I ordered take out just now, more specifically the Baked Chicken Cannelloni. Maybe it is my taste buds, but it just wasn't that great. There was a very odd flavor about it and way too much cheese on top.
My wife and I just went here for date night. It was a Friday night and the place wasn't too crowded but the service and the food were both spectacular. We had a waitress in training, Madison, along with our waiter. Dawoo. Both took fantastic care of us. The restaurant was more than willing to let us try some wines before we purchased a glass. I really liked how quiet the restaurant was for a Friday night with a very comfortable atmosphere.
The service and quality are gradually getting worse. My husband and I had a less than mediocre experience this week. Tough to write a negative review but there were a couple of issues: the server didn’t know how to open a bottle of wine. It’s a wine bar...I had to interject and open the wine myself (after a long wait). This points completely at management and lack of on-boarding and training. The fish (grouper and mahi-mahi) were over-seasoned and over cooked; almost as if they are preparing it for people who don’t really like fish but want to eat fish to impress others. They made what could be a healthy dish unhealthy with the oil and excess seasoning. Might give it one more try - hoping it takes a turn for the better.
Awesome food. Finally an Italian restaurant that you get full at. Plus our waiter was really attentive and polite. We will be returning when we are back up here. I got the roasted chicken and it was moist with this really great wine sauce and my husband got the chicken parmesan which had a lot of flavor. Usually he feels cheated when we eat Italian (which is my favorite food) but he was really full. As an added bonus, they actually made our amaretto sours correctly. Awesome experience.
I have had some great Italian fare in my short years on this planet (the former in-laws are straight out of Italy, so their food is out of this world!) and there is another restaurant in the area that I will not name, that provides much more food for very comparable prices.
Service was stellar. Very personable server & fast service. Lasagna was amazing & crab cakes were phenomenal. Outdoor dining and overall atmosphere was delightful. Coming from NY, it's difficult to find quality Italian food that can compare in this area, but this exceeded our expectations and has made us regulars! Deeeelish!
I just would not recommend Travinia nor will I return.
